As an educator, I've witnessed many life-changing moments for both children and adults. As a writer, I’ve contemplated their struggles off campus. For example, the inspirational parable about a retiring teacher:
Eternity, 91 pages, WGA# 1728943, is the May 2015 winner: 1st Scene Performance at the Wildsound Writing and Film Festival.
In his final year in the classroom, an exhausted and uninspired middle school teacher is compelled to protect his grandson who’s angry outbursts damage everyone around him. As the teacher searches for hope, he discovers the lost truth about his own incarcerated father.
Or the shocking episode of the forgetful professor:
Revision, 96 pages, ©PAu 3-676-178, is an Official Finalist of the 2014 Hollywood Screenplay Contest.
The professor’s mother taught him to forget, including the violent murder of his own father. Years later, when his repressed memories flood back and the killings resume, it takes the love of his new crush to end the nightmare and save him from himself.
And the tale inspired by my own experience during the 1992 Los Angeles uprising:
Get Along, 93 pages, WGA #1723469.
A young idealist with a passion for education survives an urban riot with the help of neighborhood allies and family ties dating back to the wild west of 19th century New Mexico. Along the way he learns that brotherhood is about more than just surnames and appearances.
Finally, the love story of a recently widowed public school administrator:
Code, 94 pages, WGA# 2087548.
Knowing the Education Code is not enough for an administrator to keep a school running, or a family intact after the loss of a spouse and child. However, sometimes love comes from unexpected sources and caring people inspire each other to overcome their personal adversity.
I am seeking representation. I look forward to meeting with you.
